COLONIE -Barbara Jean Froehlich, 71, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, October 11th, 2012 after a long illness. Born in Albany, Barbara was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Cullen Callan. She was the devoted wife of Edward Froehlich for 25 years.
Barbara was employed by the NYS DMV, for 40 plus years. Barbara's greatest love was spending time with her family, especially vacationing and movie outings. Barbara was an avid reader and had a special gift for home decorating.
In addition to her beloved husband, Edward, Barbara is also survived by her children, Deborah (Gino) Madaio of Colonie, Donald (Renee) Howe of Waterford and Edward Froehlich, Jr. of Connecticut; grandchildren, Rebecca Bailey, Steve Howe, Kate Howe, Erin Howe, Baileyann Madaio, Eddie Froehlich and Victoria Froehlich; great granddaughter, Elizabeth Bailey and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was pre-deceased by her infant grandson, Michael Bailey, her eldest child, Walter Bailey and her sister, Patricia Kardash. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 16th at 6:00 PM at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, Colonie. Friends and family may call at the funeral home between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00 PM. Inurnment will be at the Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery where Barbara will be laid to rest with her cherished son, Walter, at the convenience of the family.
