Barbara L. French, 76, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush,NY with her family by her side.
Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Augustine F. Lambe and Alberta Snook.
Barbara married her beloved husband of almost 52 years, George A. French on August 20, 1955.
She was an active member and participant of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Barbara loved music, she sang with the Musical Arts Club and the Church Choir. She served as a troop leader with the Girl Scouts and she was also involved with many civic activities.
Barbara enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband George A. French and her brother, John Carr.
Barbara is survived by her sons; Richard A. (Kathleen) French and Robert (Renie) French, her daughters; Catherine (Robert) Kilpatrick, Judith (John) Zimmerman and Suzanne (Dan) Aardema, her 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 10:00 am at Our Savior's Lutheran Church 59 Mountainview Ave., Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 25,2014 from 4 to 8 pm at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will be in the New Rural Cemetery, Rensselaer.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church School, 59 Mountainview Ave., Albany, NY 12205 or to the American Cancer Society Memorial Processing Center 6725 Lyons St. PO Box 7 East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007 in memory of Barbara French.
