Barbara A. Litwa
July 11, 1950 — December 14, 2021
Niskayuna- Barbara A. Litwa,71, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side, on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Born in Binghamton, NY she was the daughter of the late Dorothy and Alen F. Bristor Jr. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, David Litwa.
In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by a son Stanley A. Litwa of Niskayuna, NY and her sister Deborah S. Stewart of Glenville, NY along with nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her sister Patricia Bristor Cox of Virginia Beach, VA in April 2001.
Barbara was raised in Glenville, NY, graduated from Burnt Hills Ballston Lake High School and received her BA in education from SUNY Oneonta, NY. Barbara had a long career at General Electric and CSEA Benefit Fund in the Computer Science field.
Barbara had many hobbies and interests including reading, theatre, cooking, baking, skiing and biking. She was a founding member and President of Rape Crisis Service of Schenectady, INC. and was a member of various other organizations.
Barbara was a wonderful kind, generous and caring person with a great wit and she will be missed by all those who came to know and love her.
A private memorial service will be held in the spring.
