Barbara Kathryn Maio

Guilderland- Barbara Kathryn Maio passed away on July 25, 2022, peacefully after a brief hospital stay. She was born on June 6, 1935, to Arnold and Marion (Gee) Clewell.

Barbara (or Bobbie as she was known by close friends and family) worked in several different capacities throughout her life – from retail to business owner - but no job meant more to her than that of wife and mother. The title Mrs. Nicholas Maio was one she wore proudly for nearly 70 years. Her husband was the love of her life and anyone that knew her knew that. She was a loving and devoted mother to her children, Nicholas, Jr., and Danielle; always giving her time and talents selflessly to whatever they pursued. That same love and dedication spilled over to her grandchildren whom she adored.

Barbara was a long-time resident of the Guilderland, NY area and a faithful parishioner of Christ the King Church where she enjoyed teaching religious instructions for many years.

Barbara was most happy spending time with friends and family. She loved painting and crafts, decorating her home, and celebrating holidays generously – making sure to keep old family traditions while making lasting memories.
Barbara is survived by; her son, Nicholas (Tina LaBello) Maio, Jr., Daughter Danielle (Michael) Hawsey; her grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Hannah, Isaiah, Jayden, Giovanni, and Gianna; her sisters Beatrice Mangine, and Janice Clewell, and her brother Paul Clewell as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Maio, Sr.,: Her brother Arnold Clewell, and her sisters Joan (Clewell) Adams and Nancy (Clewell) Bray.
