REXFORD- Barbara A. Murphy, age 84, passed away suddenly on November 23, 2021.
She was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Richard and Dorothy Wilson. She was predeceased by her beloved husband John J. Murphy Jr. in 2009. Barbara graduated from Vincention Institute in 1955 and retired from the State of New York in 1996. Barbara was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church, in Clifton Park.
Barbara loved being with her family, she adored each and every one of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and god-children. Barbara loved to be around people, loved to camp, shop, travel and spending time with her sister and her husband and her close friends.
Barbara is the devoted mother of James F. (Lisa) Murphy of Spring, Texas; Cynthia B. (the late Richard) Tutunjian of Tavares, Florida; John J. (Tracey) Murphy III of Cohoes, New York; Richard M. (Barbara) Murphy of Washington, Illinois; and Denise M. (Harvey) Carner of Schaghticoke, New York. She is the loving sister of Lorraine (Robert) Horick of Seminole, Florida. Barbara is also survived by 13 cherished grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 god-children, several nieces and nephews, and her lifelong best friend, Jane Ross and special friend Lori Lovell. Her daughter Denise will cherish all the memories she has made with her mom (her best friend) and will miss her smile, laughter, all of her. Mom, you will always be in our hearts, and you will never be forgotten.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Friday December 3, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend her funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday December 6, 2021 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, Clifton Park. Interment will follow at 12 Noon at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National, Schuylerville, NY.
