Albany- Ms. Barbara Ann Nelson was born on October 3, 1949, in Albany, New York where she grew up with her brothers Claude A. Nelson, Jr (deceased), Carl O. Nelson (deceased), William G. Nelson, Sr. and sister Carol D Nelson.
Barbara attended Albany High, Mildred Elley Secretarial School where she earned a diploma for completing the Office Assistant course and she was a graduate of the Albany Business College. She worked for The New York State Office of the Comptrollers for 20 plus years prior to her retirement. She was an accomplished Martial Artist who earned belts and awards in Judo, Karate, Tai Kwon Do and Tai Chi. She had a love of learning, she taught herself to play piano and was learning to speak Spanish.
Barbara loved her family, and her family was her main priority. She was passionate when it came to her family. Above all, she wanted to have her family come together and to know each other and love one another the way she loved them. She was a woman who never asked for much, but was willing to take you in, feed you and make sure you were okay. She was always one to put the needs of others before her own. Cooking was one of her love languages, if you were a recipient of one of her delicious meals, then you know she literally prepared her meals with love.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her son Troy Anton Marcus Nelson, her grandchildren Kateryne Kali Shaolin Nelson Guerrero and Jaxen Troy Nelson and many nieces, nephews and loved ones. For all of us who loved and knew her our lives will forever be changed by her passing. There are no words to describe the emptiness left in our hearts now that you're gone.
Mommy rest in peace, we miss you already! As long as we live your memory will be alive. You are too great a person to be forgotten! You are so uniquely YOU and you can never be replaced.
