BURNT HILLS – Barbara Jean Pierce, 76, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 2nd after a brave battle with Lewy Body Dementia, surrounded by the love of her daughter and precious cat, Margaret in the comfort of her own home.
Barbara was born in Niskayuna to the late Warren and Rena Wielt. She graduated from Niskayuna High School in 1964 and went on to Hudson Valley Community College where she earned her business Associates Degree. She also enjoyed being a member of Proctor's Theater where she enjoyed attending many incredible shows with her best friend, Ginny. Barbara lived in a great neighborhood where she gained many close friends. Her family and friends will remember her for her amazing heart, her willingness to always help someone who needed it and her beautiful spirit.
