Albany- Barry N. Dyer, 82, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 8, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn in Albany. Barry was a proud veteran of both the US Navy and US Marine Corps having served his country honorably during the Korean War. He was a dedicated fire fighter for the city of Albany, retiring with over 30 years of service. Barry was a Golden Gloves Boxer.
Barry was a loving husband of 52 years to Beverly J.(Vadakin) Dyer; Loving father to Kathleen (Tony) teRiele, Paula (Bill) Rozell, Gina Montanye, Maria (Bob) Simmons and Michael Dyer; grandfather to: Billy, Joey, Anthony, Nicole, Ashley, Morgan, Corinth, Kennedy, Jason and Mikaela; great-grandfather to Brianna and Giovanni; he is also survived by his siblings: Beverly, Joanie, Joseph and James "Jimbo" and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother, Althea Yanni and his sisters: Tess and Rosie.
Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Monday, July 11 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, July 12 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
