Barry Paul Grignon, 55, passed away March 5, 2015 at Albany Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Barry was born July 2, 1959, in Albany, New York, the son of Maureen (Clarke) Grignon and the late Paul Grignon.
Barry graduated from the Vincentian Institute with the class of 1977.
After graduation he began working for New York State, Department of OGS, as an electrician, and then he went to work for the Albany County Correctional Facility in the Maintenance Department until he retired in 2000.
Barry loved refinishing furniture, he was an avid reader, and liked playing his wii golf and bowling, and he loved the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Yankees.
He enjoyed spending weekends with his family and friends, especially his nieces, nephews and had a great love for animals.
He was a member of the Albany Elks Lodge #49 and the Hibernian Hall AOH.
In addition to his father he was predeceased by his brother-in-law Joseph Korzyk.
In addition to his mother, Barry is survived by his siblings; Kathleen Korzyk, Kevin (Robin) Grignon, Timothy Grignon, Daniel Grignon, Geri (Tom) Shea, Marybeth (Dennis) DeCenzo, and Lisa (Luigi) Dinardo. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, many cousins and other close family members.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 10:00 am at The Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hurst St., Albany,NY, 12208. Calling hours will be on Monday, March 9, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Church. Inurnment will be private.
