Barton K. Murray

November 13, 1950 — September 23, 2022

ALBANY
MURRAY, Barton K., 71, Bart was a caring and devoted husband, father, uncle, and grandfather.
He passed away peacefully on September 23, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bart was born on November 13, 1950 in Ottawa, Ontario to Gordon and Lilliam Murray. They moved to the Capital District when we was six months old. Bart attended Niskauyma High School and then the Junior College of Albany where he earned his degree in finance. He went on to work in finance and banking.

Bart married his wife Lorraine in 1972 and had one son, Eric. As a father, he was involved in all aspects of his son's life, including coaching several sports. Bart loved spending time with his two grandchildren, Arista and Natasha and would travel to Oregon frequently to see them. This, he said, "was his most treasured role". He never failed to make his granddaughters laugh and smile.

He loved traveling and when he retired, he vacationed with Lorraine to several Caribbean Islands. He loved sitting on the beach and snorkeling, When he wasn't traveling, you could find him on the golf course. Although he wasn't the best player, he loved spending time with his friends. There will be a private interment at G.B.H.S. Saratoga National Cemetery and plan for a future celebration will be announced. Bart's family would like to thank the Nurses and Aides of Community Hospice who offered so much assistance during this difficult time.
