Beatrice Gardner

TROY-Beatrice A. Gardner, 87 of Troy passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013. Beatrice was born and raised in Cohoes; she was a resident of Troy for the past 65 years. She worked at Lennon's Florist for a time, but spent the majority of her life raising her children and enjoyed being a grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She loved numerous hobbies, particularly travel, crafts, decorating for the holidays (and the family get together that accompanied the Holidays) and in particular her plants, some over 20 years old.
She was the daughter of the late Beatrice Farrell Bariteau and Emery Bariteau. She is predeceased by her husband the late Arthur E. Gardner, Sr. and by two sons Arthur E. Gardner, Jr. and Michael Patrick Gardner. She is also predeceased by three sisters, Betty Jackson, Patricia Defiglio and Theresa Weeks and by two brothers, Raymond and William Bariteau.
She is survived by four sons, Robert (Mary) of Virginia, William of North Carolina, Gary (Gail) and John both of Troy. She is also survived by eight daughters, Linda Gardner of Florida, Joan Gardner of Cohoes, Sue Kennedy(Dave) of Averill Park, Carol Nash (Scott) of Colonie, Bea Masterson (Bill) of Petersburgh, Barb Kdidnasky (Nicholas) of Troy, Maryann Castle (Tim) of Watervliet and Patty Grass (Carell) of Colorado. She is survived by 26 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, by a brother, James Bariteau (Jack) of Troy and one sister, Barbara Bull also of Troy, and also by numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, January 28, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy.
