ROTTERDAM – Beatrice R. Burke, 89, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. Born in Charlottesville, NY on March 3, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Orson W. Dibble and Golda (Stevens) Dibble.
Beatrice worked for Mica Works, General Electric and Podiatrists, Drs. Merton Hershman, Samuel Bell and Gerald Campo for several years. She loved traveling, fishing, camping and enjoyed playing Yahtzee. Beatrice was also a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Schenectady for many decades.
Beatrice was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Robinson K. Burke on March 13, 1996. Brother Minard Z. Dibble, sister-in-law Shirley Dibble, brother-in-law Anthony Chelelli and son-in-law Kenneth L. Hoffa also predeceased her.
She is survived by her son Stanley R. (Linda) Burke of Greenville; daughters Cheryle A. (Richard) Rodenmacher of Schenectady and Linda J. Hoffa of Niskayuna; grandchildren Michelle L. Burke, Stephen R. Burke, Colleen Burke, Joseph A. Ciesielski, Stacie L. Ciesielski, Rhonda L. (John) Gaba, Richard D. Rodenmacher, Lisa A. (Robert) Milliman and David L. (Marianne) Hoffa; 22 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; sister Elizabeth Chelelli; brother Willard J. (Dorothy) Dibble, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, at 10:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association of NENY, Pine West Plaza, Bldg. 4, Suite 405, Washington Avenue Ext., Albany, NY 12205.
