ALBANY, NY – Benito DeMaria, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at his home. He was born in Italy and was the son of the late Nicoantonio and Filomena DeMaria. Benny lived in the Capital District area for most of his life. He worked for the former Volcano Restaurant in Troy for many years. Benny participated in many programs at New Visions of Albany where he had many, many friends. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and especially loved to visit is brother. Benny is the beloved twin brother of Pietro DeMaria and his wife, Mary Ann of Watervliet. He is the loving uncle of Filomena and Donatella DeMaria and Pietro DeMaria, Jr. Also surviving are many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to New Visions of Albany, 334 Krumkill Rd., Slingerlands, NY 12159 in memory of Benito DeMaria.
