Niskayuna – Benjamin D. Asmara, passed away peacefully Saturday June 26, 2010 at Albany Medical Center Hospital, after a long illness.
Benjamin, a son of Siti and Erwan Asmara, was born in Indonesia. He was employed by Northern Fire (UTC), and previously worked 12 years at the Diebold Co.
In addition to his parents, Benjamin is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Lilani Asmara; loving children Brenda and Benjamin "Soney" Asmara, siblings: Bambang (Teteh) Asmara, Baron (Ida) Asmara, Betty (Adang) Asmara Surahman, Patricia Hasan, Bina (Lala) Asmara, Yanti (Syachrul), and an extended family and friends in US and Indonesia.
Benny was a dedicated husband and father, who attended all his children's activities. A kind and gentle man, Benny was known for helping neighbors, family and friends. Benny was gifted with a creative mind and was skilled at turning thoughts into realities. Some of his many accomplishments include creating and building his own home security business, rebuilding computers, automobile restoration, and building his own home.
Calling hours will be at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, on Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00pm followed by the funeral service.
