Benjamin Augustine

November 16, 1949 — September 23, 2018

Benjamin "Jimmy", "Benny", "Boomer" Augustine, 68, passed away peacefully, though unexpectedly, in his sleep on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Albany Medical Center.

Boomer never fully recovered from extensive heart surgery he had in February. He endured so very much the past seven months with the help of his best friend and cousin-in-law, Richie Polec, and his "favorite niece" (and God daughter) Kaitlyn Lyons.

Boomer loved and appreciated his extended forever family, Bruce and Pat, Megan and "Little Brucie" Shultis. He loved being a part of their shenanigans. He also was blessed with the friendship of Marcia and Jerry Mcgee; spending time with them, especially at their camp, were some of his best times.

Boomer leaves behind many friends, especially his best friend, Henry "Hank" Wagoner.

Boomer proudly served with the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was a retired sergeant with the N.Y.S. Department of Corrections. He was a member of and Past President of the Polish American Citizens Club, Albany, NY and the Joseph E. Zaloga American Legion Post #1520.

Boomer is survived by his brothers; Vinny and Tommy Augustine and his sister and brother-in-law, Kathie and Eddie Lyons as well as an abundance of extended family.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 1:30 pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY 12871
