LaRose, Bernard Edward Jr. SCHENECTADY, N.Y. It is with great sadness, the family and friends of Bernard (Bernie) LaRose, 72, announce his passing on Monday, November 12, 2007 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Albany, N.Y. on June 26, 1935, son of the late Margaret Travis and Bernard LaRose Sr. Bernard attended St. Ann's Catholic School, Philip Schuyler Senior High School and worked at the family business of LaRose's Garage in Rensselaer. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army as a specialist. He was a motor sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve. He worked for Walter Motors in Voorheesville and was a teamster for Time-DC Trucking until 1974. He was then employed by the Owens Corning Fiberglass in Delmar until retiring in 1997 after 21 years of employment. Bernard was known as Mr. Fixit. He loved going to his camp on the great Sacandaga Lake, "putterin", boating, hunting and fishing. He was known to his grandchildren as "Pepe" who could fix anything. Bernard is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Diana Criscone LaRose; daughter, Lynette Griesemer, son-in-law Patrick and their children, Patrice and Lindsey; daughter, Donna Mayo, son-in-law John and their son Jarrett; daughter, Susan Layne, son-in-law Thomas and their son Thomas Jr.; daughter, Jean Blair, son-in-law Joseph and their children, Rebecca, Connor and Allison. Very close to this family, as a daughter and son are Sherry and George Stark and their children, Sarah and Russell. Survived by his sister, Shirley and her husband Salvatore Annello, their son Christian (Chip), his wife Regina and their children, Michael, Noah and Peter. Beloved son-in-law of the late Louise and Salvatore Criscone; brother-in-law of Marion and John Chrysogelos, their children, Christina and Thomas Myers (Steven) Rossman, (Rebecca, Aiden) and Nicole Rossman; John Jr. and Jeannine Chrysogelos (Johnny B. and Casey); Lisa and Michael Lambert, (Olivia); Aunt Betty Vet and Aunt Vi DeMarco. Also survived by many cousins and their families. Special thanks to the Capital District Dialysis Unit, 600 McClellan St., Schenectady, for support and the patients for their caring. Also Ellis Hospital Emergency and hospital staff along with doctor Gary Kronick. Funeral services will be Friday, 8:15 a.m. from New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.) then to St. Clare's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Calling hours will be Thursday, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
