LATHAM – Bernard J. Donnelly, 92, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Born in Little Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Humphrey and Catherine Donnelly. He lived in Albany for most of his life. Mr. Donnelly was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving his country during World War II. He was a member of Union Local #83 Sheet Metal workers for over forty years until he retired. In his youth, Bernard was a talented baseball player. He was an avid skier and enjoyed golfing. Bernard was proud to be a member of the Burden Lake Card Club.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jean A. Donnelly. Bernard is the devoted father of Michael (Beth) Donnelly of PA, Robert (Terry Ayers) Donnelly of Clarksville, and Barbara (Mark) Lahey of Latham. He is the loving brother of Elizabeth Mosher of Syracuse and the late Joseph, Miles, Mary and Ann. Bernard is the cherished grandfather of Michael, Aaron, Lauren, Brendan, Katherine, Patrick and Margaret and the great-grandfather of Katelyn, Matthew and Christopher. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Latham. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. At the request of the family, memorial contributions would be appreciated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Bernard J. Donnelly.
