COLONIE – Bernard R. Delfs, 70, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Albany Medical Center Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Vermontville, NY, he was the son of the late Bernard and Ruth Delfs.
Bernie was a student of Phillip Schuyler High School and entered the United States Air Force upon his 1960 graduation. He retired from the Mason's Union Local #6 as a bricklayer.
Bernie is survived by his companion of 25 years, Carol Colletti; children Jill (Delfs) Maki, Mark H. Delfs, Linda J. (Fitzpatrick)Gorka, Christin Colletti, Jennifer Colletti and the late Daniel Colletti; grandchildren Caroline, Catherine and Victoria Maki, James Jonah Windus, Ariana Rae Delfs, Alixondra Rae Delfs, and Kacey Fallas; silbings Carin Delfs, Richard (Lorretta) Delfs, Janet L. (William) Lyon and Cathy A. (Gary) Riley; friend to the end Tom Alesandrini, and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Thomas Schumacher for his care through the years.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Kidney Foundation, 99 Troy Road, Suite 200, East Greenbush, NY 12061 in Bernie's name.
