ALBANY_Bernard Stone, 66, passed away unexpectedly on September 19, 2015 at Albany Medical Center.
He was born on February 22, 1949 to the late Norman and Susan (Rogers) Stone. Bernie had recently retired from Pepsi Cola after 25 years working as a forklift driver. On September 24, 1969 he married his wife Anna. Bern was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a hard worker, a good provider and a diehard NY Jets, NY Mets and Boston Celtics fan. He loved horse racing and visiting OTB. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Bernard is survived by his wife Anna; his children, Bernard "BJ" Stone Jr. (Casey Ruede), Brian Stone, Brandon Stone (Carley Gurtler); grandchildren, Amber, Taylor, Derek, Braydin and Brynn Stone; brothers, Norman (Frances) Stone, Eugene (Carolyn) Stone, Larry (Sherry) Stone, Garry (Linda) Stone, Bruce Stone; brother- in- law, Ricky Atkinson; sister-in-law, Debra (Frank) Battige many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
He was predeceased in death by his brother, Charles Stone and Michael Stone.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie New York 12205.
A funeral services for Bern will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 12:00 pm at the New Comer Funeral Home, Interment will immediately follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 or Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
