Bertha E. Hazelton, 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Bertha was born in Bronx, New York to the late Louis and Rose (Rota) Zanello. She was a member of the St. Clare's Senior Citizens group. Bertha worked for Montgomery Wards in Menands. She enjoyed house keeping, cooking and taking care of her friends and family. In addition to her parents, Bertha was predeceased by her husband, William Hazelton, her infant son Francis Rozniewski, her son Joseph Rozniewski and several sisters and brothers.
Bertha is survived by her beloved children: Louis (Nevada) Rozniewski, Sr., Anthony (Patricia) Rozniewski, Sr., Sandy (John Gorman) Lieberman and her daughter-in-law, Anne Rozniewski. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and her sister Virginia Scaringe, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home for all of the care and compassion given to Bertha and her family.
Funeral services will be on Saturday at 8 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie then to St. Clare's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the Mass at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home, 180 Washington Ave., Ext. Albany, New York 12203 in Bertha's memory.
