COLONIE – Bessie Brooks, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home. Born in Glasgow, NY, she was the daughter of the late Scipio and Ida Boler. Bessie was a Licensed Practical Nurse and prior to her illness worked at Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, William Brooks. Also surviving are eight children, eight grandchildren, one sister and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be private. Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association, 6130 W. National Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53214 or www.alz.org in memory of Bessie Brooks.
