Beth Cook

Beth Cook, 74, wife of Edward Cook of Schenectady, NY passed away in the arms of her husband on August 7, 2024 at home.

Born July 25, 1950 in Schenectady, NY she was the daughter of the late Grant and Betty Calkins. Beth grew up in Round Lake and graduated from the Shenendehowa School District. She continued her education at Maria College. She worked in the New York State Taxation and Finance Dept. for 32 years. In her spare time she was involved in church and women’s ministries. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Cook of Schenectady as well as her daughters Kristen Ayers of Leland, NC and daughter Nicole Wixted (Lamont Chambers) of Schenectady. She is also survived by her step children, Edward Cook of Albany, Lydia Zach (Nathan) of Converse, TX and Amittai Cook of Albany. She also leaves behind a brother Carl Calkins of Kansas City, MO. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Anthony Ayers of Richland, WA, Alan Ayers III of Albany, Elias Wixted of Schenectady, Mia Sidoti of Schenectady, Grayson Chambers of Schenectady, Ahlyana Cook of Schenectady, Lilly Zach, Noah Zach, Jonah Zach, Ezra Zach, Nathan Zach and Evangeline Zach all of Converse, TX.

Calling hours will be Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 10am-1pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. A funeral service at the funeral home will begin at 1pm with interment following at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
