COLONIE – Betty A. Cook, 74, of Colonie, passed away on Sunday February 10, 2013 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Preston and Ann Brearley. Betty was an accounting clerk at Albany Medical Center for twenty years. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and crafts. Betty was a member of the Lishakill Seniors and Colonie Alliance Church.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Thomas H. Cook. She is the devoted mother of Debra J. Landauer, Thomas A. (Jill) Cook, John D. (Bina) Cook, Cynthia M. (John) Calabro, Katherine A. (Scott) Murray, Nancy E. (Rick) Smith and the late Michael E. Cook. She is the mother in law of Faye Cook. Betty is the sister of Janet Lynch, Ellen Brantigan and the late John Brearley. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10:00 at Colonie Alliance Church, 32 Lapham Drive, Colonie. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at Newcomer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. At the request of the family memorial contributions may be made to Colonie Alliance Church in memory of Betty A. Cook.
