COLONIE—Betty (Barbara) E. Turner, 88, joined her loving husband Vern on Friday, October 28th.
Betty was born in Albany, a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Howarth. She was a graduate of the former Palmer Briggs (Austin Beauty School) and she owned her own salon for 55 years. Betty was a life member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her beloved children, Barbarajean "BJ" Pedersen and her husband Marty, Faith Turner-Trier and her husband Bruce, Anna Layaou and Vernard Turner Jr.; 12 adoring grandchildren; 14 loving great-grandchildren; dedicated sister-in-law and niece, Arlene Hurley and Kathy Farrell.
Betty's family would like to thank everyone at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center Nursing Home for the unimaginable above and beyond care shown to their mother.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 1 PM at Memory Gardens Chapel, 983 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Memory Gardens Chapel on Friday from 12 PM to 1 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made in Betty's memory to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
