Betty Clifton

GUILDERLAND - Betty Clifton, aged 90, of Guilderland, died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center.
Betty born in East Orange, NJ on October 20, 1920 was the daughter of the late Lyman S. Smith and Mary Foster Smith. Betty was a graduate of St. Agnes School in Albany and received a Bachelor of Science in Math from Connecticut College in 1942. She was married to the late F. Parker Clifton for 32 years. Betty worked as a tax technician for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and retired in 1988. She was an active member of the McKownville Methodist Church and the AARP. She enjoyed socializing with friends and playing bridge.
Betty is survived by her daughter and son-n-law, Sue and John Irwin of Clifton Park, NY and her granddaughter, Crystal Irwin and her fiancé, Douglas Taylor of Virginia Beach, VA.
Betty's family would like to thank the staff at Our Lady of Mercy Fatima Unit for their excellent care.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Troy. Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
