Albany- Betty W. Curtis, 94, passed away peacefully after a long fight on Thursday, February 10, 2022. Raised in Indiana, she was daughter of the late Jackson and Delia Wales. She is predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, Thomas E. Curtis.
Betty was a gifted singer. She was a member of the chorus at First Presbyterian Church of Albany, the Monday Musical Choir and the Colonie Senior Choir. She and her husband shared a dedication to playing golf. She gave her time to the local golf league with score keeping and handicapping. In her later years she kept everyone on their toes with her wonderful dry sense of humor.
Betty is survived by her nephew Thomas Forman, her grandson Kevin O'Connor and her two great granddaughters Claire and Scarlett. As well as her long time caregivers Susan Curtis and Nancy Wolfe.
In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her sister Claire Foreman and her two son's Donald Patrick Curtis and Michael Curtis.
In lieu of flowers make a donation to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. They provided her with free daily transportation for her breast cancer treatment.
A calling hour will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 10am-11am at First Presbyterian Church, 362 State
St, Albany, NY 12210. Funeral services will begin at 11am. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
