Betty S. Ferris

COLONIE – Betty S. Ferris, 92, passed away on February 9, 2022 at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehab in Scotia. She was born in Plattsburgh on March 27, 1929 a daughter of the late Wells and Mabel (Boland) Stanley. She was employed for many years as a secretary for Mechanics Exchange Bank in Albany and Sears in Colonie.
In September of 1951, George married Betty Stanley and had two sons, William and Richard. Richard passed away in 2001. Her husband George passed away in 2013.
Betty is survived by her son William; three grandchildren, Lucien Bourgault and Richard and Meredith Ferris. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Sharon.
She enjoyed all kinds of word puzzles, was very generous in donating to her favorite charities. She loved to travel, especially to Ogunquit Maine, and was a long time member of Pine Grove Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2022 at Albany Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204. Online condolences may be expressed at www.NewComerAlbany.com
