Betty L. Criscone, 91, a resident of the Teresian House in Albany, entered peacefully into eternal rest at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital on May 29, 2013.
Born in Colonie, NY on January 16, 1922, Betty was the daughter of the late Antonio and Marie Montesano Cudemo. Betty was the beloved wife of Albert J Criscone, who sadly passed away in 1965 at the age of 43. She was predeceased by her brothers Anthony and Angelo Cudemo and her sisters Rose Coffey, Carmella Quaglieri and Roccina Belcastro.
Betty and Albert were married at St. Anthony's Church in Albany in July 1945. She lived most of her adult life on South Pine Avenue in Albany. Family and friends enjoyed visiting with Betty, as they knew they would be treated with a wonderful Italian home cooked meal. After raising her children, Betty worked as a dedicated Home Care Companion for more than twenty years.
Betty is survived by her four children, Bernadine (Andrew) Long of Niskayuna, Rosemary (Donald) Naylor of Killeen, TX, Patricia (Michael) Turley of Albany and Albert (Virginia) Criscone of Conway, SC. She was the cherished grandmother of John O'Neil, Richard and Robbie Bagnato, Andrew and Christopher Long; Dawn Galzalez, Angeline VanDyke, Valerie Broland; Michael (Christine) and David (Michelle) Turley; Rose, Michele, Kimberly Albert and Amanda Criscone. Betty is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff on the 6th floor at Teresian House for all of their love and care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Infant of Prague Chapel at Teresian House. A calling hour will precede the Mass from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Teresian House. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Donations in Betty's memory may be made to the Teresian House Foundation, 200 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12203.
