Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Natoli, 102, of Albany, formerly of Norwich, died on November 6, 2021.
Born June 4, 1919 in Otsego County, West Exeter, New York, she was the daughter of Florence Harold and Louise Atwell McLaughlin. Her brothers, George and David McLaughlin of Cazenovia, predeceased her. She married Agatino J. Natoli of Norwich in June 1946. Mr. Natoli predeceased her in 1968.
Mrs. Natoli graduated from Cazenovia Central Schools in 1937, and from the University of State of New York, State Teachers College at Cortland in 1942 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and Health. She taught Physical Education at Norwich High School from 1942-1947. She was a substitute Physical Education teacher from 1969-1971, and a Teacher's Assistant in the Norwich City School System from 1971 until her retirement in 1992.
She was a former President and Board Member of the Broome County, and Chenango County Girl Scouts of America, as well as the Chenango County Division of the American Cancer Society. She also served as member of the Norwich City Youth Bureau, and the Norwich City Planning Board. From 1946-2005 she was an active member of St. Bartholomew's Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving are children and spouses: Elizabeth Ann and Nicholas Andrews of Burlington, VT; James G. and Eileen (Kelly) Natoli of Schodack; Mary Louise Natoli and John Huegelmeyer of Middletown, MD; and David J. and Judy (Cox) Natoli of Guilderland. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm on November 11th at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY 12205.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday November 12th 10am at Christ The King Church, 20 Sumter Avenue, Albany, NY 12203. Interment services will follow, at a later date, at St. Paul's Cemetery in Norwich.
