ALBANY—Betty S. Montague, 90, entered into eternal rest Saturday morning, July 9, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born in Sheldon, VT, a daughter of the late Howard and Gratia Stanley. She received her teaching degree from Ithaca College and taught at various schools. She then lived as a homemaker caring for her husband and children. Betty was very family oriented and loved having them around. She was active in the Bethlehem Garden Club and volunteered at the Institute of History and Art.
Betty was predeceased by her siblings; Robert, Oscar, Esther, Virginia, H. Bruce and John.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 65 years, Stanton Montague; devoted children, Sandra Smith and her husband Alexander, Judith Brunn and her husband Michael, Steven Montague and his wife Barbara; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Kron; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral services are private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty's memory to a charity of one's choice.
