Betty W. Loucks of Tequesta Florida passed away at the age of 80 on Monday, October 5th, 2015 at Jupiter Medical Center. She was born on December 24th, 1934 and was raised by the late John and Iva Wyllie in Buffalo, NY.
She is survived by her husband Clifford Loucks, whom she was married to on September 7th 1957, having just celebrated 58 years. She was mother to three and mother-in-law to their spouses, John and Karen Loucks, Bonnie and Gene Mulligan and Darlene Loucks. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren Andrew, Peter and Philip and his wife Shannon Loucks. Betty also had two great grandchildren, Isaac and Abigail as well as four step grandchildren and spouses. Pat Mulligan of Boynton Beach, FL, Colleen and Chris DeSelms of Lake Worth, FL, Michele and Larry Volke of Yalaha, FL and Michael and Katie Mulligan of Alpharetta, FL as well as three step great grandchildren, Brady, Meghan and Sean.
Betty had a strong love for her family and a rich mirth for life, always keeping those around her, and those who knew her best, laughing. To say that she was a social butterfly would be an understatement. When Betty moved down from Albany, NY to Tequesta Florida, she immediately was a part of the welcome committee for Tequesta Terrace. Making everyone feel welcome, Betty's smile wouldn't just brighten up a room; it would brighten up the spirits of both the residents and the staff.
Betty had an unwavering faith in God that couldn't be shaken. She would begin and end everyday in the bible as well as praying for each and every person in her life. She brought comfort to those that needed it and especially for her family, whom she prayed for continuously.
During Betty's last week at Tequesta Terrace, she was nominated Queen of Tequesta, garnered with a crown and welcomed with a reception ceremony. If you asked those around who saw her daily, they would tell you that although she wasn't able to wear the crown for very long, she was Queen everyday she walked through the halls.
