Betty Muriel Winter

Betty M. Winter, 95, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2022.

Betty was born in Schenectady, NY in 1926. She is predeceased by her devoted husband Richard. Her parents Estelle and Raymond Sibel and her sister, Dorothy Engler. Betty graduated from Draper High School in 1944. She worked at the GE Plant in Schenectady for many years. She and Dick had 58 wonderful years together.

Betty was a devoted mother to Karen (Pete) Sand of Saratoga Springs, Grandmother to Ryan Sand of Glenville, NY and Todd (Bridget) Sand of Ballston Spa. She was a Great Grandma to her beautiful little girls, Maggie and Eloise.

Betty took pride in her home and family. In earlier years she enjoyed singing with a group from Hamilton Union Church in Guilderland. She and Dick spent many years living in Guilderland, NY before moving to Naples, Florida and then to South Carolina. Returning to Sacandaga Lake in 1985.

The family would like to thank the staff on 2 Springs at the Wesley Nursing Home for caring for Betty over the last few years.

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 5:00pm-6:00pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie NY, 12205. A Memorial Service will begin at 6:00pm. Burial will be in Schenectady Memorial Park on Thursday, October 20, 2022.
