Beulah was born on January 21, 1930 at home in Petersburgh, NY. Due to the great depression she left high school early to help support the family by working in a shirt factory first in Berlin, NY, and then she also worked at Cluett Peabody's shirt factory in Troy, NY. In 1948 she married the love of her life, Donald Vars, and they built their life together in Grafton, NY. The most important thing in Beulah's life was her relationship with Jesus Christ. Beulah gave her heart to Jesus as a child. Both Beulah and Donald dedicated their lives to serving Jesus one night while listening to a Jack Wyrtzen meeting on their car radio at the age of eighteen. They became active members of Grafton Baptist Church. Beulah taught Sunday School for sixty plus years and many children of the town, who are now adults, attest to her being a factor in leading them to their own relationship with Jesus. Another very important part of Beulah's life was the care of her family. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home wife and mother. Many an afternoon my brother and I would arrive home from school to a plate of warm cookies and milk. We will miss Mom (Grammy) very much, but we know she is at home with Jesus!
There will be calling hours on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 4:00-7:00pm. Beulah's funeral is scheduled for Friday, December 15, 2023 at 9:30am. The calling hours and funeral will be held at the Grafton Baptist Church, 11 Owen Rd., Grafton, NY . Interment will follow in Eagle Mills Cemetery, Poestenkill, NY.
In lieu of flowers Beulah requested that donations be made to Grafton Baptist Church.
Beulah and her family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Beulah's caregivers during the last years and days of her life.
