Beverly J. Bice

May 6, 1947 — March 17, 2022

Colonie- Beverly J. Bice (Strawser), age 74, of Alden, PA and Colonie, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022 after a long illness.

Born May 6, 1947 in Hepburn, OH, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Janie (Kline) Strawser. Beverly proudly served in the Navy as a journalist where she met her future husband. Married to the late Harold F. Bice for 45 years, Beverly was a loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma, and friend.

She retired from Carbon Sales Inc., in Wilkes-Barre, PA, where she worked as a bookkeeper for 28 years. She loved her job and her colleagues and often spoke fondly of the time she spent with them.

Beverly is survived by her sons Michael Bice and his wife Lynn of Colonie, NY, Eric Bice and his wife Cindy of Fort Worth, TX, and her daughter Hallie Bice of Colonie, NY. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Hastings of Kenton, OH, brother Lynn Strawser of Kenton, OH, three grandchildren (Mason, Logan, and Payten) and 11 nieces and nephews (Janet, Tony, James, John, Mark, Cindy, Wendy, Priscilla, Tom, Gary, and Tim) and her beloved cats Rosie and Ziggy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Charles, Merle, and James, and her nephew, David Hastings.

Despite living with severe rheumatoid arthritis and myasthenia gravis, Beverly had a rich full life and enjoyed camping and touring the countryside. She loved watching old television shows, reading, spending time with her grandchildren, and her cats. Her heart was particularly big when it came to animals, big and small. She enriched the lives of everybody around her. Her absence creates a hole in our lives, but the many cherished memories of her help to fill it.
