Beverly Schaffer

Albany- Beverly Schaffer, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2017 with her family by her side. She was daughter of the late Carl and Janette Frazier of Sharpsville, PA. She was the wife of the late Casper E. Schaffer.

Beverly was born in Sharpsville, PA and moved to Albany after her marriage. In 2015 she moved to Hague, NY to be closer to her family. During WWII, Beverly worked for the U.S. War Department, U.S. Navy. Following that she worked for the NYS Department of Education in Albany. She was a devoted member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Albany for many years.

Beverly is survived by her three sons, James Schaffer (Sherrie), Thomas Schaffer (Charlene), Craig Schaffer (Sharon) of Wake Forest, NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James, Meghan, Kristen, Aleta, Timothy, Melissa and 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017, 10:00am at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 160 Central Avenue, Albany, NY 12206. Interment will follow the service at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
