It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of our beloved Aunt Beverly Smith, who passed away on December 29, 2017. Bev was born on March 10, 1939, to the the late Hazel and Myers Smith. She was predeceased by her brother Sonny and her sisters Bertha Linendoll and Dorothy Matthews.
Beverly had a combined 40 years of service at the NYS Telephone Company and Samaritan Hospital, where she was a switchboard operator. Beverly cherished spending time with family enjoying cruises, trips to Virginia Beach and going to the casino with her sisters and her nephew Bob. She enjoyed summer BBQ's with family at her niece Robin and her husband Jim's home which became known as "the summer home of the Smith sisters." She loved Elvis, old movies and board games with family. Included in her travels was a visit to Graceland with Dot, Bob and her dear friend Janice Teal. She was also friend to Marta Atkinson.
Our lives are forever changed by the loss of Aunt Bev who leaves behind many nieces and nephews including James Robert (Bob) Matthews, Jr., Robin (James) Farrell, Robert (Mary) Miner, Nancy (Len) Lewis and many others. Bev was cherished by her great-nieces Courtney (Michael) Morris and Ashley (Douglas) Nathe. She was great-great Aunt to Hayden and Scarlett Nathe and Harper Morris all who she adored. She was dearly loved by the all the family and dear friends she leaves behind.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
