ALTAMONT – Blanche L. Blozen, 88, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Blanche was born on December 15, 1919 in Newark, NJ and was the daughter of the late Susan Mitchell. She worked at JC Klien as a window and door maker and later at SUNY Albany in the bakery. She volunteered at the desk at her daughter's dance studio, Barbara's School of the Dance in Delmar for 33 years; she was known as the "cookie lady". She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family especially her great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank our wonderful audience at Proctor's for the standing ovation that was given to Blanche at the June 6th dance recital. They would also like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Maryellen Drislane and her nurse Cathy for the compassionate care they had give to Blanche over the years.
Blanche is survived by her devoted daughter, Barbara S. (Doug C.) Gallager of Altamont; her loving grandchildren, Doug C. (Theresa Balfe) Gallager of Altamont and Susan A. (Michael) Cleary of Niskayuna; her cherished great-grandchildren, Thomas and William Gallager and Nicole, Kayla and Christina Cleary and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony T. Blozen, he died in 1990.
A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Altamont.
