Bonita C. Brecht

COLONIE – Bonita C. Brecht, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 17, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Albany a daughter of the late Wilfrid and Simone (Beauparlant) Dupuis.

Bonita was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, step-mother and step-grandmother.
Bonita was huge fan and avid collector of Wizard of Oz memorabilia and cookbooks and she was an excellent cook. She enjoyed attending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Bonita and Marty spent many days together, chatting and enjoying a beer and a few glasses of red wine in their home. Bonita liked to take a chance with her scratch-off lottery tickets. She loved caring for her cat, and looked forward to her visits with her granddaughter.

She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Dupuis.

Bonita will be held in loving memory by her husband, Martin; her children, Pomea and Jake Dailey (Anna); her granddaughter, Devorah Dailey; her step-children, Bobbi-Jo Nusbaum and Michael Brecht; 3 step-grandchildren, Julianne, Andrew and Eli; her siblings, Patricia Krushinsky (Larry), Martine Male (Bruce) and David Dupuis (Sandra); sister in law, Donna Dupuis and many nieces and nephews. She was loved and will be missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with a celebration of Bonita's life to immediately follow at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 21, 2023 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will immediately follow at Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204 in Bonita's memory.
