Feura Bush – Bonnilyn Hart Munro, 67, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2011 at Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Bonnie was born in Schenectady at Ellis Hospital on January 29, 1944. She spent her childhood and teen years growing up in Scotia NY, but also lived extensive parts of her life in Pittsfield, Mass. and on the Netherlands Antilles island of Bonaire before settling in Feura Bush in 1998.
She graduated in 1962 as a member of the first graduating class of the new Scotia-Glenville High School. She received the accreditation as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Pittsfield Vocational School of Practical Nursing in 1978 and was subsequently employed at Berkshire Medical Center from 1978 through 1991.
Bonnie was baptized into the Christian faith at the First Baptist Church of Scotia on Sept. 25, 1955.
She was the eldest of two children born to the late Larry Hart of Glenville and to Ruth Brooks Hart of Scotia. She also was predeceased by a former husband of five years, Robert J Clarke of Scotia.
All her life, Bonnie was a great lover of animals, especially dogs. She and her husband of the last 27 years, Archibald Munro of Feura Bush, bred and raised beagles. Her particular favorites were Buddy and Mandy the house dogs.
In addition to her mother and her husband, she is survived by her son, C. Edward McNally of Pittsfield, Mass, her brother, Rev. Alan Hart of Glenville, and grandson, Jacob McNally of Pittsfield. Bonnie has four stepsons: David, Michael, John and Mark Munro.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date in Maple Shade Cemetery, Scotia. It is the family's wish that no flowers be sent. Instead, contributions to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Bonnilyn Munro are encouraged.
