Beloved Booker Turpin Sr. left the Heavenly gates on September 11th 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Richmond Virginia, on October 3, 1937. He was the only child of Lavinina Dejarnette Turpin. Booker worked for the VA hospital for 27 years as a cook until he retired. During his career he boxed for 2 years at Albany Trinity. He worked at Albany Arbor hill Softball field started off as player and then became a referee for over 20 years, under Mr. Wallace. He also worked at Taylorama cleaners on Clinton Ave for over 40 years.
Booker Turpin was a loyal member of Commando Lodge #1105 (I.B.P.O Elks of W). for many years.
Booker loved to dance and shoot pool. Booked loved to party with his friends at the Silver Slipper. Booker also loved to spend time with his grandkids. We know that Booker T. LOVED the Women.
Booker also spent a lot of time with his oldest daughter Denise.
Booker Turpin was predeceased by his mother Lavinnia Turpin, and his daughter Alicia Allison. Booker was also predeceased by his adopted parents Eugene McCall Sr., Estelle McCall and their children- Peaches, Eugene Jr. McCall. Brooker leaves his children, Booker (Teddy) Turpin Jr. Denise Vidal, Laura Turpin ,Kyle Turpin & Patrick Robinson of Albany NY, Michael Turpin (Tayna) of Maryland, Dean Holliday (Meshelle) of Atlanta Georgia, niece Jacquie Van-Tull, and his adopted siblings, Anna & Leroy McCall & Mary Crawford, & host of grandchildren(29), great-grandchildren(23), and a host of nieces and nephews.
