Schenectady- Brenda J. Kniskern, 65, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Ronald and June Russell.
Brenda worked as a manager at the former Costumer owned by Kathy and Jack Sheehan. She was deeply loved and respected by many of the friends established during her employment there.
Brenda enjoyed cooking and going on outings with her close friends. Most of all, Brenda enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren. She cherished being involved in their education, care and going to their sporting events.
Brenda will be deeply missed by all those who loved her. She provided support and compassion to all those around her and was to many a "go to person".
Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother "Mema" and friend.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Brian Kniskern; daughter, Jennifer N. (Chris) Coons; grandchildren, Graceson and Gabriella Coons and Lilyanna; brothers, Rory (Stefka) Russell and Trent (Karen) Russell; niece, Elizabeth June Russell; nephews, Taylor and Jake Russell; ex-husband/friend, Everett Coons; and many additional friends and family.
In addition to her parents, Brenda is predeceased by her grandparents, Viola and Miles Gildersleeve.

The family requests that donations be made in Brenda's name to Leah of Schenectady, New York Home School New York Loving Education at Home, checks can be made out specifically to Schenectady LEAH and given to family to support the local Schenectady chapter.
