Brenda Catizone, 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Albany Memorial surrounded by her loving family. Brenda was born in Cohoes to the late Leo and Ellen Poliquin. Brenda sang in the choir for the Colonie Village singers, volunteered at St. Patrick's soup kitchen for several years, loved her flower gardens, but most of all loved to spend time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Brenda was predeceased by her brother, Bruce Poliquin, her sister, Leonore Minkler and by her canine companion, Crystal.
Brenda is survived by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Charles Catizone; her children, Craig (Jennifer) Catizone, Belinda Biagiotti, Mark (Lynn) Catizone and Dawn (Darryl) LaPointe. She is the cherished grandmother of, Nick, Emily, Gage, Daniel, Eric, Ryan and Tyler. She is the sister of, Richard Poliquin. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 9 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie then to Christ our Light Church, Loudonville where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, Attn: Development Dept., 3 Oakland Ave. Menands, NY 12204-2718 in Brenda's Honor.
