Brewer F. Lee Jr.

October 12, 1933 — July 1, 2021

Brewer Francis Lee Jr., 87, of Albany, passed away on July 1, 2021 at St. Peter's Hospital.

Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Brewer and Ella (Van Wormer) Lee. He proudly served this great country of ours, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He became an operating engineer with Local 102 and assisted with the building of the South Mall. He was one of the last 'wheeler and dealers' and loved playing the slots at many casinos including Dover Downs Casino in Delaware.

Brewer loved his daughters, sons-in-law and grandsons dearly. His appreciation of Fords began at an early age when he used to race on Washington Avenue Extension for pink slips, including racing against Shirley Muldowney. He was an avid NASCAR fan – taking his family to many races in the 1960s and 1970s, including the Daytona 500 every February where he rooted for David Pearson. He enjoyed taking his family on vacation to places all over the US and Canada. He adored animals as there wasn't a cat, dog, goat, or duck he didn't love.

He was predeceased by his great granddaughter Brook Heidrich, son-in-law William (Billy) Wissert, and brothers Donald Lee, Raymond Lee, Joseph Lee, Alfred Lee and Jacob Lee.

Brewer is survived by his daughters Candace (Randall) Goodman of Slingerlands and Lisa Wissert of Mayfield. He is also survived by his grandsons John Heidrich, Jeremiah Goodman, and Justin Goodman; great grandchildren Morgan Heidrich, Connor Goodman, Lily Goodman, Justine Goodman, and Tommy Goodman; brother Willard Lee of Colonie; and sister-in-law Johanne Lee of Merritt Island, FL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 13th, 2021 from 11:30am-1:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd Colonie.
Interment to follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville NY

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in Menands in Brewer's memory would be appreciated.
