Albany
Brewster (Bruce) Montgomery, 78, passed away quietly on May 27 at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born June 20, 1941 in Queens NY, to the late William Lee and Anna Mercedes Montgomery, he lived most of his life in Queens and the Bronx.
Bruce married and relocated to Albany where he pursued his dream as a credentialed Alcohol and Substance Counselor until he retired.
He was an avid fisherman, and every summer would get up in the middle of the night to take long trips to Cape Cod, or Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn to go deep sea fishing for the weekend, always returning with pails of fish to be cleaned and cooked.
Bruce leaves to cherish precious memories, his loving daughter Ejada Montgomery, ex-wife Rita Montgomery, sisters Jackie (Willie) Hodges, Shirley Purdie, Barbara (Randy) Nugent, brother Allen (Sandy) Montgomery, and a host of relatives and friends.
He is in God's hands now and will be missed.
Services will be private.
