SLINGERLANDS – Brian T. Hoogkamp, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 20, 2014 while on vacation. Born November 7, 1948 in Albany, he was the son of Richard and Elaine Hoogkamp of Colonie.
He will be dearly missed by by his wife of 45 years, Karen (Kopshac) Hoogkamp and five children Brian (Jackie Baiden), Kara Peters (Philip), Joseph Sean (Rebecca), Patrick (Sonia) and Jason (Ashley); Foster father of Maritza, Tiffany, Page and Rose, and grandfather of 14 of whom his life revolved around.
He will be missed by brothers Richard Hoogkamp (Marcia), William Hoogkamp (Linda) and sisters Gail Lockwood, Pam Hickok, Faith Javers and Lori Cote(Karl); brother in law of Nancy Pettit (Dave Caprara), David Kopshac (Kim) and Michael Kopshac, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Brian loved camping, fishing, skiing and boating with his grandchildren. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor, and unconditional love for EVERYTHING FAMILY.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 85 Elm Avenue, Delmar. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104 in Brian's name.
