GUILDERLAND – Brian T. Sweeney, 47, of Guilderland, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital after a short illness.
Brian was born on August 11, 1961 in Albany and is the beloved son of Leonard S. and Eileen F. (Day) Sweeney. He is also survived by his brothers, Timothy L. Sweeney and James D. Sweeney and his loving partner, Nancy Amuso. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, devoted cousins and many close friends.
Brian was a graduate of Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central High School. Prior to his illness, he was employed by the NY State Canal System as the chief marine engineer on the state Tugboat "Urger".
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A celebration of Brian's life will follow at 5:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
