Bruce F. Yarter

LATHAM, NY – Bruce F. Yarter, 64, of Latham, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Albany County Nursing Home. Born in Cohoes, NY, he was the son of the late Frederick and Margaret Yarter. Bruce lived in Colonie for most of his life. He was a boilermaker with Union Local #197 for over 35 years. Bruce was a stockcar driver many years ago and an avid fan of NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Bruce is the beloved husband of Sharon R. (Goldberg) Yarter. He is the beloved father of Chelsea S. Yarter of Latham and Megan Yarter of Kissimmee, FL. He is the brother of Gerald Yarter of Saratoga, Richard Yarter of Cohoes, Joel Yarter of Florida and Ann Reilly of Colonie. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and many, many devoted and supportive friends at Dee Dee's Tavern in Latham. The family would like to thank the staff at Albany County Nursing Home for the care and support given to Bruce during his stay.
Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie4 (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be on Tuesday, February 16th at 2:30 p.m. at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Resident Activity Fund @ Albany County Nursing Home, 780 Albany Shaker Rd., Albany, NY 12211 in memory of Bruce F. Yarter.
