Rotterdam- Bruce Marshall Furbeck, 63, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at his home in Myrtle Beach, SC, with his loving wife by his side. Bruce was the son of the late Marshall and Esther Furbeck and was the devoted husband to Marsha A. (Miller) Furbeck.
Bruce graduated from Mont Pleasant High School then obtained his Associate's Degrees from SUNY Cobleskill and the GE apprentice program at SCCC. Bruce's favorite hobby was fishing. He enjoyed attending his grandson, Tyler's, sporting events. He spent his free time volunteering with the Sportsmans Youth Bowling League for over 30 years. He was also on the board for the Schenectady Bowling Association and the Schenectady Youth Bowling Association. Bruce worked for GE and KAPL for almost 40 years until he retired in 2014.
He will be forever missed by his beloved wife Marsha of 42 years; his daughters: Julie (Mike) Drexel, and Joanna (Jimmy) Williams; grandchildren: Tyler Drexel and Kate Williams; along with his niece and several nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bruce is predeceased by his sister: Muriel Furbeck McGovern Cole.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, New York on Monday February 29, 2016 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a funeral service at 1:00 pm. The burial will take place following at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Colonie.
