Bruce A. Sheldon

Bruce A. Sheldon, 83, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 12, 2024, with his loving family by his side. Bruce was the son of the late Robert and Nora Sheldon. Bruce was the devoted husband of over 54 years to the late Eileen C. Sheldon. 

Born on August 11, 1941, in Hudson, NY, Bruce was the youngest sibling of a large family. Bruce graduated in 1960 from Columbia High School. He retired from Tenneco, formerly Tennessee Gas, in Malden Bridge, NY. He also worked for several years at Groton Seaport in Connecticut. As the youngest and last living sibling, Bruce loved reminiscing and sharing stories from the good old days with his nieces, nephews, sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members. Bruce loved bowling, baseball, horseracing, and whatever sporting event was on tv that night.

Bruce is survived by his sons, Stepheon Sheldon (Katie) and Shawn Sheldon; grandchildren, Stepheon, Derrick, Latesha, Kayla and Sidney; great-grandchildren, Krystiana, John, Emma, Aaliyah and Jayleigh. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.

A going home service for Bruce will be held on Wednesday, September 18th 2024, at 11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy-Schenectady Road, Watervliet NY 12189. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 9-11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Graceland Cemetery at 680 Delaware Ave, Delmar NY 12209. A repast will be held immediately following at The American Legion Post # 1683, 836 Broadway, Rensselaer NY 12144.
