Caitlyn Laura Moncur, 35, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
Caitlyn is survived by her parents, Michael (Daphne) Smith and Joanne "Jody" Meyer Diedrich; her greatest loves — her children, Lucas 12, Isaiah 10 and Arabella 3; her loving sisters, Krista Diedrich Palumbo and Anna Diedrich; her precious nieces, Cecelia, Zoe, and Harper; and finally, her many adoring aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom she loved to make laugh and spend time with.
Caitlyn, "Cait," "Nini," had the biggest heart and often had to be stopped from rescuing too many animals. She loved the people around her immensely and all who knew her loved her just as much. Her strength over the last few months could never be matched, and the nurses who cared for her said it was their greatest honor. Her positive attitude and sense of humor never changed, regardless of the circumstance. Cait would want the whole world to be laughing today and every day, and the two last phrases she spoke were, "That would make us all laugh," and "lovin' on you."
A Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, 1803 Union Street, Niskayuna, on Saturday, October 28th at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
